Benefits of fruits on skin

Papaya



This fruit is the best bet when it comes to skin care, papaya is a good source of Vitamin A and papain. Vitamin A acts as an anti-oxidant, while the papain breaks down inactive proteins and removes dead skin cells. The best feature of the fruit is its low sodium quality. Since the salt content is less, the water retention is also little. The result is an overall hydrated skin. Rub mashed papaya on cracked heels to remove dead cell and make feet softer.



Apple



Apple is a great source of fibre which keeps the bowels clean, ensuring skin that is free of acne and boils. It is also loaded with phytochemicals that have properties similar to anti-oxidants. Studies have also shown that eating apples regularly can reduce wrinkles and fine lines. Mix a gated apple with honey and apply on your face for five minutes for a hydrated, stress free skin.



Peach



Peach is packed with potassium and flavonoids apart from Vitamin A. It helps revitalising and hydrating epidermis. The antioxidants help wounds recover faster and prevents signs of early ageing. Grate one peach, mix with sugar and use as a face scrub.



Oranges



This fruit belongs to the citrus family and is best know for its astringent and toning properties. Rub fresh orange peel on your skin to tighten it and lighten the colour. Another useful tip is to take the juice of 2 oranges and freeze it in an ice tray. Rub your face with frozen orange juice cubes. It will instantly freshen you up and lift up the tiredness from your face. The juice will give your dull and oily face an instant sheen. Oranges are a good source of Vitamin C which is known to improve the skin texture and color.



Pomegranates



Pomegranates are excellent for oily and combination skin. Rich in AHA, pomegranate juice can be used as an astringent and is also a natural toner. Crush pomegranate seeds and use it as a scrub for skin care, this will remove excess oil and make your skin look fresh. Massage pomegranate juice on your face for around 10 minutes and then wash off for an instant glow. Like oranges pomegranates also contain Vitamin C and folic and numerous antioxidants. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and helps in building up the immune system

Apples



Apples are a great conditioner and toner for your skin. They have amazing skin-healing powers and have been used as a beauty aid for centuries. Add a cup of apple juice to your bath to cleanse and soften your skin. The juice of apple can be used as a breathe freshener too. Apple juice when applied to your hair scalp can prevent dandruff. Use as a final rinse after shampooing your hair. Also, remember, apples are filled with pectin - essential for fighting the dreaded acne.



Lemons



A classic home beauty ingredient. Lemons are used to cleanse and freshen the skin and hair. Use lemon slices to soften rough skin spots such as elbows and heels. Lemon slices also help deodorize and mix a few teaspoons of lemon juice in your bath and you will feel fresh the whole day. Lemon juice can be added to your favourite cleanser or shampoo to refresh and tone your scalp. It also helps prevent dandruff. Lemon rinds can be rubbed on to scars as it aids healing. Lemon is a ,natural bleach it can help to fade out dark spots and acne scars too.



Bananas



Banana is a great emollient for your skin and hair. They are rich in protein and natural fats and can be used on all skin types. An easy facemask that will make your skin supple is to apply mashed banana all over your skin and leave it on for 2o minutes, rinse off with warm water and moisturize after that. Mashed banana also makes a wonderful hair conditioner when mixed with a 1 tablespoon of honey. Perfect for keeping hair beautiful even if dyed regularly.



Pineapple



Like papaya, pineapples are great skin softeners, which cleanses and rejuvenates dull and dry skin. Use pineapple slices on rough skin spots like knees, elbows, and heels. Use a slice of pineapple as you would a sponge or loofah to scrub your body in the bath or shower.



Papaya



Papaya- rich in papain enzyme and Vitamin A, is the best treatment for exfoliating your skin. For having a fresh and glowing skin apply mashed papaya and 3 teaspoons of aloe vera gel and massage all over your body monthly. Leave on your skin for no more than five minutes and rinse thoroughly. Use it with caution for the first time as it may sometimes irritate sensitive skin.



Peaches



Peaches are highly emollient and perfect for dry skin types. Mash a fresh peach and combine with a tablespoon of plain yogurt to make a smooth paste. Apply on the skin and leave it on for 20 mins and then rinse off with warm water. Your skin will feel moisturized and supple to the touch.

Diet for Healthy Hair

The most effective way to get healthy hair is to have a healthy diet. Lustrous, healthy hair is a result of a healthy body and a result of eating healthy food. Beautiful, healthy hair is a result of a healthy diet. There are certain foods that make your hair healthy and strong. Incorporate these foods in your day-to-day diet and you will notice the difference in your hair within a few weeks.

Water: One-fourth of the weight, of a strand of hair, is made up of water. Water makes your hair supple and soft therefore you should have enough water. Do not wait till you are thirsty keep drinking water. If you thirsty it means that you have lost water and your body is asking you to replenish the loss. Water keeps your hair silky and shiny as well.

Protein: A diet for healthy hair should be rich in protein as hair consists of primarily protein. Proteins will give your hair more strength and will prevent it from breaking and splitting. Eat protein rich foods like fish, meat, milk, cheese and cereals.

Minerals: A variety of minerals are important for healthy hair. Iron carries oxygen to the hair. Insufficient iron will starve the hair follicles of oxygen. Include red meat and dark green vegetable in your diet. Zinc prevents hair loss. Meat and seafood have a high content of zinc. To improve the natural color of your hair, incorporate copper in your diet. Fresh vegetables, nuts, seeds, meat and liver are high in copper.

Vitamins: You must ensure that you diet has all the necessary vitamins that help in the growth of healthy hair. Vitamin A makes your scalp healthy and is good for your skin as well. It is found in vegetables especially carrots. Vitamin B and C for hair growth and hair color. Include these vitamins in your diet will ensure that your hair is healthy and does not split. Eat fruits, vegetables, cereals, eggs, milk and bread.

Exercise: Along with a healthy hair diet it is important that you exercise properly as it will ensure that there is proper blood flow to your scalp and will help in the growth of hair.

Magic with Milk


To make your skin soft and smooth dip a piece of cotton wool in milk and pat all over your face.Leave on for half an hour and wash off with water.

Mix two tablespoons of milk in one teaspoon of salt and apply on the face at bedtime.This makes the skin petal soft and silken smooth.

To lighten your complexion grind a couple of almonds in milk and apply on the face at bedtime.

To improve a dark and dull complexion soak bengal gram pulse (chick-pea) in milk
overnight. Next morning, grind to a paste and mix in a pinch of turmeric powder and a few drops of lime juice and leave on for half an hour.

To lighten and brighten your complexion take a tablespoon of milk and mix in one teaspoon each of carrot, orange juice and melted honey. Leave it on for 15 minutes.
An excellent mask for a dry and blemished skin is made by taking a tablespoon of gram flour and mixing in a big pinch of turmeric powder, one-fourth teaspoon of orange peel powder, a teaspoon of beaten curd and a teaspoon of milk. Apply on the face and neck. When the skin starts feeling taut, rub it with your hands until it glows. Then, wash with tap water.
To make the skin soft and smooth grind one fourth tea spoon of chironji to a paste and mix with one fourth teaspoon each of milk and curd. Leave on for 20 minutes.
Another mask for making the skin soft and smooth is prepared by taking one fourth teaspoon each of watermelon, cucumber and gourd seeds and grinding them to a paste in milk. Mix in half teaspoon of cream or top of milk and a few drops of rose water. Leave on for 20 minutes.
To lighten and brighten the skin and improve blood circulation fry a teaspoon of green gram in a teaspoon of olive oil to a red color, grind to a paste in milk. Apply on face and leave on till the skin feels taut. Then, rub the skin till it glows and wash off.
For making the skin fair, grind as small piece of sandalwood in milk to a paste. Mix in one fourth teaspoon of turmeric powder and leave on for 20 minutes.
To remove itching and other blemishes from the skin grind one teaspoon of yellow mustard to a paste and mix with a tablespoon of cream of milk and leave on for 20 minutes.
To improve a dry and rough skin take two tablespoon cream of milk and add a teaspoon of almond oil and a few drops of essence of rose. Leave on for half an hour before removing with water. Besides using milk external­ly, drink a glass every day in order to keep your teeth, hair, nails and eyes in good condition and to put a glow into your face.

Facial Masks for Winter


Oatmeal and olive oil mask1 egg1/2 cup cooked instant oatmeal1tsp olive oilMix one egg and 1/2 cup cooked instant oatmeal and a teaspoon olive oil until smooth. Spread on your face and leave 15 min then rinse.For combination skin, you can also try using two different masks. Use a mask for oily skin on the T-zone and a moisturizing mask on the cheeks and neck.



Butter face mask
1 tbsp unsalted butter, softened1 strawberry, mashedOr 1 inch slice of cucumber, chopped and rubbed through a sieve (for normal to dry skin)Or 1 tbsp lemon juice (for oily skin)Or 1 egg yolk (for dry skin)Mash the strawberry into fine paste. Beat the butter in a bowl, then beat in your chosen ingredient according to your skin type. Spread the mixture on the face and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove it with a wet, warm washcloth. Butter is a good source of vitamin A, so it makes a perfect mask for sensitive, sunburned or damaged skin.



Potato mask:
Boil 1 potato, mash it and add 1 raw egg yolk and 1 table spoon of milk. Apply the mask on your face and throat for 20 min. Wash it off with warm water or herbal tea.
Nourishing anti wrinkle mask for dry skin: boil some beans until they are soft. Mush the beans and add 1 table spoon of vegetable oil and 1 table spoon of cream. Apply the mask on your face and throat for 30 min. Wash it off with warm water.



Tomato mask:
Tomato mask will lighten and tone up dry skin. Mash 1 tomato and add 1 table spoon of sour cream. Apply the mask for 20-30 min.

Anti wrinkle mask for dry skin:
grate some cabbage and boil it in milk until the cabbage becomes very soft. Apply the mask for 20 min on your face and throat.For very dry skin mix 1 table spoon of boiled cabbage, 1 raw egg and 1 table spoon of vegetable oil. Apply the mask for 20 min.





















Banana Mask
If you have combination skin suffering from winter elements, try a softening banana mask. Mix mashed banana with fresh sweet cream and apply this wonderful mask all over your face for 30 minutes. It will smooth, soften, moisturise and nourish your skin whenever necessary and will make you forget about the cold, harsh, and nasty winter outside!

Home Made Bleach

Homemade skin bleaching treatments can be extremely safe and effective. There are various home-based recipes available for skin whitening

* The strawberry and yogurt mask: The main ingredients of this recipe are 4-5 small strawberries, 2 tsp of bio-yogurt, 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp olive oil and 2 tsp of oatmeal. You should mash up the strawberries with a clean fork and mix all the ingredients together. You can easily prepare a healthy facial mask with the mixture. You should apply this paste with a clean brush. You should keep the facial mask for 20 minutes and then you should rinse it off. Strawberry and yogurt mask helps in brightening your skin, it keeps your skin moisturized and treats blemishes with ease.
* Sandalwood and Rosewater Mask: You can easily prepare this mixture by blending 3 tsp of sandalwood powder and 3 tsp of rose water. You should wear this facial mask for at least 20 minutes.
* Lemon Juice and Honey: The mixture of these two ingredients can easily exfoliate your skin.
